Yes, I'm inclined to agree that my fears about the magic phase were unfounded. While the new lores are very powerful, especially considering the variable spell levels, Skaven magic still has a lethal edge that is hard to ignore. I'm interested to see how GW will tackle the first few army books, which are rumored to be Orcs and Goblins (desperately in need of a re-write) and Ogre Kingdoms (a joke army if ever I saw one).

Note: Before the OK players rush to defend their beloved eating machines, let it be known I have 2k of them myself and would be very happy to see the army popped up a few tiers in power. :D

New book looks great. I have to say I am impressed by the ease Fantasy is to learn. There are a lot of tiny rules but realistically they flow pretty well. After saying that I am unimpressed witht he errata and FAQ that has plagued several armies.

They've actually been pretty quick to put out and fix FAQ releases for all Army Books and the BRB, is this a new era of trying from GW?

Color me impressed so far. New rules are awesome, and fluff now references bigger units that we might see, in perhaps a Warhammer Apocalypse type game?

I am particularly excited for Steel Giants with the souls of killers for my Dark Elf army...golems perhaps or will the Eldar Avatar have another home in the Dark Elf Fantasy army?

Read the Bretonnian Errata / FAQ. Ignore page 64. Ignore the second sentence of the caption under the peg knight.

They could have just written..... ignore the force orginization chart and limitations as previously set up in the old rulebook. I havent had time to review the army book to the rulebook but I am pretty sure we are paying more for generic magic weapons than most too. blarg!

I really do like the rules though. EASY PEASY. I glued my horses together and plan to prime up my Damsel, BSB, and a squad of knights of the realm tonight / tomorrow.

I'd not worry about magic item costs, we all have the same issues. Potion of Strength for Dark Elves is more expensive than the rulebook, and I am sure there are others.
